recycled pfuA flooring for spaces dedicated to horse riding completely realized from recycled rubber obtained from out of use tires, so called PFU. It’s the project realized in the outward working’s field in the Happy Horse’ riding ring in Orvieto, where they think of substituting the sand usually used for this kind of surfaces with 30.000 kilos of recycled rubber’s granules, acrylic colored pigment’s upholstered. In this way they want to guarantee a flooring’s better lasting, proving to be protected even from decline caused by weathering’s action.

Benefits for hoses

The project, replaying an innovation already adopted at Nantes, comes out from the partnership between Ecopneus, PFU management’s master in Italy, and UISP, Unione Italiana Sport per Tutti, and among the many advantages it should allow joint pains and respiratory’ reduction for the horse. Under the rubber’s recycled coat they introduced a 2500 plates’ undertone, making the recycled rubber’s amount used in the framework rising to 80.000 kilos, equal to about 12.000 car tires’ weight.

The field study

The framework will be analyzed from the Veterinary Medicine Department’s researchers of Perugia’s University, managed by prof. Francesco Porciello, which will study the using material’s benefits already emerged with the earlier Nantes’ research.
