3–8 years in ESG consulting, sustainability advisory, or regulatory compliance — with active client-facing work, not internal corporate sustainability
• Demonstrable experience working on EU sustainability regulation with real clients — CSRD readiness assessments, EU Taxonomy mapping, SFDR disclosures, or equivalent. Big 4, tier-1 consulting, or OEM sustainability function background strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of ESRS standards — particularly climate (E1), pollution (E2), and supply chain due diligence — at the level of practical implementation, not conceptual familiarity
• Ability to read and interpret primary regulatory texts (EFRAG standards, EU Official Journal, delegated acts) and translate them into precise, structured content
• Experience producing structured, traceable deliverables — gap assessments, compliance matrices, annotated regulatory summaries — rather than purely narrative reports
Preferred Background:
• Automotive, industrial manufacturing, or heavy industry sector exposure — understanding of OEM/supplier dynamics, Tier-1 supply chain structures, or product carbon footprint reporting
• Familiarity with EU Taxonomy technical screening criteria at a practical application level
• Experience with Scope 3 Category 1 (purchased goods) or Category 11 (use of sold products) the categories most material for manufacturers
• Prior work authoring content for knowledge management systems, compliance tools, or structured databases
• German language proficiency is an advantage for EU-based candidates given the target customer base
Requirements added by the job poster
• No need for visa sponsorship
• Working in a remote setting
• 5+ years of work experience with Taxonomy
• Accept a background check
• 5+ years of work experience with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
• 5+ years of work experience with Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
